My Bulletin Board.

It's Crafty Sparkplug Time! I was inspired by the blog Simply This and that. There was a post, Stenciled Fabric Cork Board and the blog writer Bonnie went above and beyond and actually stenciled the fabric she used. This would be fun to try one day, but today just isn't that day.

I'm looking for orange accents for my newly painted blue office. I'm not a huge fan of my new wall color, so I decided orange was going to be my accent color as it's my favorite color anyway. So my co-worker found "Whitney" fabric at Hobby Lobby. What I mean by "Whitney" fabric is anything that has some sort of modern orange design or orange paisley print. These three fabrics were shouting at me to buy them! I only needed one though, so I chose the one on the left and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Someone find me something else to do with the others!

Supplies needed:
Fabric - $8.99/yd at Hobby Lobby - it was printed duck cloth
Cork Board
Spray Adhesive Glue - I used Elmer's Craft Bond - $3.99 for 4 oz at Michael's
Silver Thumb Tacks - $2.19 for 100 at Office Depot - I used about 220 thumb tacks
Glue Gun

Side note: I went to Michael's, Office Max, Joann's and Staples before I found the plain silver thumb tacks at Office Depot.

I previously had a plain cork board in my office and it didn't do a whole lot but collect photos. I didn't need a new cork board since I was wrapping it anyway.  I put a towel down on my floor so I didn't ruin anything and cut out fabric to fit around my cork board and enough to wrap around the backside. I sprayed the adhesive all over the cork and wooden edges of the board. I placed the fabric on top of the board and adhesive and immediately started getting the bubbles out by sliding my hand across to the edges.

Next you start at one corner putting the thumb tacks in close to the edge of the wood. Your thumb will get tired and I took a small break. Once you have thumb tacks all the way around, flip the cork board over and hot glue the corners and edges down for a nice clean look. Then you are done! Hang it on a wall!

Finished product! Waiting to get back into my flooded office to hang it on the wall.
